Seek N Treat Open letter to Rafiq Fida Sahib, the Acting Chairman of State Human Rights Commission : I hope you might have come across a very common proverb Little Knowledge is Dangerous. This proverb holds true with your statement They (ISM Doctors) have not even elementary knowledge about the salts of Allopathic Medicine why because i am sorry to say that your good self has little knowledge about the syllabus of BUMS/BAMS. So let me update you about the Syllabus, Duration etc of these courses :- 1. Duration of Course : the total duration is 5 and a half years i,e. 4 and half years of study and 1 year of compulsory Rotatory Internship. 2. Syllabus : the subjects to be taught to every student comprises of two components i.e., subjects of their own pathy plus subjects of Allopathy which are Anatomy Physiology Pathology pharmacology Medical Jurisprudence Toxicology PSM Medicine Surgery Gynae Obs Ent optha and Pediatrics. 3. Internship : after successful completion of 4 and a half years course of study, every student undergoes compulsory Rotatory Internship in different unani/ Ayuvedic Hospitals for 6 months and different Allopathic Hospitals like DH, SDH, CHC, PHC for 6 months hence completing a 1 year of internship as prescribed by CCIM, Govt. of India. Now after briefing you about course content of ISM Degrees, I want to have an open discussion how come an intellectual like you can say that such Doctors even dont have elementary knowledge of salts used in allopathic medicine and how come is his prescriptions harmful. But whether to prescribe allopathic medicine or not is a different issue and let the Honourable higher authority to decide. Recently interviews were conducted for recruitment of AYUSH Doctors under RBSK scheme and I being one of the candidate for the same was asked different questions. The 95% of questions was from allopathic subjects particularly surgery and 90% interviewers were also from Allopathy side and they touched the most recent topics with me like laparoscopy etc and Alhamdullilah I answered very nicely. Now the question is why they asked questions from Allopathic subjects when they know that they are interviewing an ISM Doctor. The answer is clear that the respected interviewers were having updated knowledge what ISM Degree is and what are the subjects to be taught to a BUMS/BAMS students. Once again i am sorry to say that your allegation is totally baseless and outdated. I being an ISM Doctor feel proud of having knowledge of both Pathies and it has time and again proved that some inferiority complex is felt by some groups in the society that is why such types of baseless and outdated articles are published in newspapers. Dont worry RIZIK DAINAY WALLA ALLAH HAI WHO SAB KO RIZIK ATTA KARTA #Jihaan
