Seen the movies, Blended, A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Wind Rises, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn and In Your Eyes! Ill start with the movie Blended. Another Adam Sandler movie and another terrible comedy I had to sit through. I knew right away that this movie was going to suck and its not just because Adam Sandler was in it, but the trailers for this movie made this movie seem like another Just Go with It and Grown Ups. Sure Drew Barrymore co-stars in the movie with Adam Sandler, but that doesnt mean that this movie is going to be like The Wedding Singer. Sure even the director of The Wedding Singer, Frank Coraci directed this movie Blended, but that still doesnt mean that this movie is going to be good. Dont forget that this director also directed The Waterboy, Click, Zookeeper and Here Comes the Boom, which were all terrible movies, but unfortunately this movie Blended is probably worse than all of those movies. Sure all of those movies were poorly written and very unfunny, but this movie Blended was just pointless and really unoriginal. Seriously movies like this get made every year and even Adam Sandler himself has played in movies like this, for example the movie Just Go with It. Now this movie Blended is not as bad as Just Go with It, but it has the same bad writing and goofy formulaic story as Just Go with It. When it comes to bad Adam Sandler movies Blended doesnt even make the top 5 and thats not giving this movie a complement thats just saying that Adam Sandler has done a lot of shitty movies and as shitty as this movie was his other shitty movies are worse. Blended has Kevin Nealon, Terry Crews and Shaquille ONeal in the supporting cast, all of whom have played in Adam Sandler movies before and just like most of their performances in his movies their really terrible. Joel McHale and Wendi McLendon-Covey also play in this movie and they pretty much play the same characters they always play in movies. Now as for the two stars, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, as much as they did have good chemistry with each other, their acting wasnt all that good. Drew Barrymore had her charming scenes, but when she started making jokes her character got more uninteresting. Also as for characters go, I really thought Adam Sandler played a very unlikeable character in this movie. When you watch this movie you think Adam Sandler is just a goofy guy with three daughters, but really hes an asshole with three daughters. Now this has nothing to do with Adam Sandler in real life because I hear hes a good guy, but in this movie I found his character do be really unlikeable. The jokes in this film were obviously terrible, I think I laughed once when I was watching this movie and I dont think it counts because the joke I laughed at was a joke that was in the trailer. So if you want to know the only funny joke in this movie watch the trailer and youll probably know what it is. Blended is just another bad Adam Sandler movie, it didnt really piss me off because I know Adam Sandler will probably never make a good movie again, so when I see his movies I know what to expect. If you love Adam Sandler and you love his bad movies, then check this movie out, but if you dont like Adam Sandler, then skip this movie.Ill give it a 2.6 out of 10. Next is the movie, The Wind Rises! Hayao Miyazaki is the greatest writer and director of animated films, I know Im suppose to say that hes one of the greatest, but thats lie because I think hes the greatest writer and director when it comes to animation. When you watch movies, like Princess Mononoke, Howls Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, From up on Poppy Hill, Spirited Away, The Secret World of Arrietty, Ponyo, Porco Rosso and Kikis Delivery Service, then you will know how amazing Hayao Miyazaki is. He not only has a very artistic vision, but he executes his film so perfectly and writes his characters so compellingly that your just amazed after watching any one of his films. Now when I heard that The Wind Rises was Hayao Miyazakis last film I felt kind of sad because I love his films, but at the same time I was really curious to see what his last film would be like. The Wind Rises is actually a very good movie, its not his best movie, but its up there. The Wind Rises has beautiful animation like most of Hayao Miyazakis films do and it has a beautiful story and a really emotional and well written third act. By the end of this movie I was really sad because not only was this the end of Hayao Miyazaki movies, but also the fact that this movie was just amazing. This movie was the perfect end to all of his films; it was well written, interesting, captivating and bittersweet. Like most of his movies there were a lot of talented actors to do the voices of these characters. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Mandy Patinkin, John Krasinski, Martin Short, Elijah Wood, Jennifer Grey and William H. Macy all star in this movie and they do a fantastic job. The characters were all very memorable and really compelling, especially with the two lead characters, I thought their romance was really well done and I loved watching these characters. The Wind Rises also has a terrific score to it, I found all the music in this movie set perfectly with the tone and it also gave the film beautiful atmosphere. There was so much in this movie that I loved and Im really glad I watched this movie because I can tell that this movie will be a movie Ill be buying when it comes out. Hayao Miyazaki is the greatest animated writer and directed that Ive ever seen and Im glad I watched his final movie and Im really glad that I loved it so much.Ill give it a 9.1 out of 10. Next is the movie, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn! The Angriest Man in Brooklyn is a film that I knew would be bad, but I still watched it because it had a good cast. Now when I mean a good cast, I mean this film actually stars Robin Williams, Peter Dinklage, Mila Kunis and Melissa Leo. So two Academy Awarding winning actors and two very talented TV stars, star in this shit hole of a movie. I know many people havent heard of this movie, so Ill give a brief synopsis about it. The Angriest Man Brooklyn is about a man, who lost his son a while ago and since he lost his son he has become one of the angriest people in Brooklyn hence the title. Now the major plot of this movie is that he goes into his doctors office because he has bad headaches and the doctor tells him he has 90 minutes to live, so now knowing he has only 90 minutes to live he starts running around Brooklyn making an ass of himself and trying to make up with his family. Robin Williams plays the lead role and at no point in this movie was he ever funny. His acting was also pretty terrible in this film, I think Robin Williams did this movie just to try something different and honestly it didnt work. Mila Kunis was awful in this movie too, her character was completely unlikeable and at anytime she tried to make a joke it fell flat. Melissa Leo was barely in the movie, which was good because theres no need for her to ruin her career over this movie. However, her brief performance in this movie was actually pretty good. Her character was actually logical and somewhat likeable, which is more I can say about any other character in this movie. Now getting to Peter Dinklage, who everyone knows Im a huge fan of! I thought he in this movie was really out of place. I can tell watching this movie Peter Dinklage looked like he didnt even want to be in the movie, but he was and he gives a good performance as usual, but his character just seemed rather pointless. As for the comedy goes, I dont think there was a single moment in this movie that was funny. Now as for the dramatic side, it was just as boring and predictable as the comedy. The writing for this movie was really bad and the direction was even worse. This movie was a waste of a good cast and a waste of anyones time for watching it. I will not recommend this movie, which should be no surprise. I hope Robin Williams does something good in the future because his movies nowadays are really lacking. Ill give this movie a 3.3 out of 10. Next is the movie, A Million Ways to Die in the West! Seth MacFarlane, the man who created the TV shows Family Guy and American Dad and also wrote and directed the movie Ted, now gives us this movie. A Million Ways to Die in the West is a western comedy about a wimpy farmer, who loses his girlfriend to a mustache shop owner. Soon after his break up with his girlfriend the wimpy farmer meets a beautiful blonde cowgirl, who teaches him how to be a cowboy and perhaps winning his girlfriend back. Seth MacFarlane plays the wimpy farmer in this movie and performance wise he wasnt that great, but comedic wise he gave some good laughs every now and then. Amanda Seyfried plays the girlfriend in the movie and shes not that great in the movie either, they couldve gotten any actress to play her. Neil Patrick Harris plays the douche bag mustache shop owner and his performance kind of worked for this movie. Neil Patrick Harris didnt really give much laughs in the film, which sucked, but his performance in the movie wasnt all that bad, he looked like he was having fun with it. Giovanni Ribsi pretty much plays the same creepy weirdo role he did in the movie Ted, so if you liked him in Ted, then you might like him in this movie as well. Sarah Silverman played her typical Sarah Silverman roles, which I always hate, I dont what it is, but I really cant stand Sarah Silverman. I think the only movie I enjoyed her in was Wreck-it Ralph. Liam Neeson was also really bad in this movie, just like Amanda Seyfrieds character I think any actor couldve played Liam Neesons role in the movie. His character had no wit or charm about him and he was probably the least memorable, talk about really wasting Liam Neeson. However, on the bright side there was someone in this movie that actually gave a really good performance and that was Charlize Theron. Charlize Theron wasnt all that funny in this movie, even though she did have a couple of scenes that made me chuckle. Her performance in this movie was actually very well done and as silly as this movie was she actually had pretty good chemistry with Seth MacFarlane. Now there were a lot of things that didnt work in this movie! The jokes were one of them. Sure at times I chuckled at some parts and the scenes with the dollar bill, the bar fight and the one musical number was pretty darn funny, but other than that I didnt find anything else funny. I can tell this movie was trying to be a more modern version of Blazing Saddles, but ended up being more of a less funnier and western version of Ted. I, of course really enjoyed the movie Ted, even though at times the movie got a little juvenile. Now, A Million Ways to Die in the West is not only juvenile from start to finish, but its also incredibly stupid. Its not as funny as Ted and its nowhere near as funny as Blazing Saddles. Seth MacFarlane wrote, directed, produced and starred in this himself and I get thats a lot of work and I give him credit for trying, but this film had a very lazy script, weak direction and sloppy editing. Seriously the editing in this movie was really bad, some scenes transitioned so awkwardly and the chase scene in this movie with the train had atrocious editing, which was very noticeable. This movie kind of pissed me off a bit and its not because it was so terrible, it pissed me off because I was actually going to give this movie a positive rating. You see if this movie was just an hour and a half long and it didnt have that damn awful third act, I was probably going to give a decent rating, noting really high because it doesnt deserve a high rating, but the first two acts of this movie was fun, it was stupid, but still fun. Now the last half hour of this movie was not only unfunny, but it was just boring. Not a single character said anything funny, it was all mostly poop and piss jokes, which again was very juvenile. Also in the third act there were scenes that made no sense at all and the acting was so forced and the jokes were so stupid that I was just getting annoyed. The first two acts of this movie are really stupid, but I still had fun with it and I liked its energy, but the third act just ruined that and made the movie annoying. The movie couldve been a fun guilty pleasure, but now its just a forgettable, stupid western comedy that shouldve had better jokes. Some people might actually like this movie and thats fine, but I didnt care for this movie very much. It wasnt consistent, it didnt have enough funny moments and it had a horrible third act. So if you like stupid comedies you might enjoy this film, but if not you can skip this movie. Ill give this movie a 4 out of 10. Next is the movie, In Your Eyes! Joss Whedon is one of the best TV creators out there and plus hes made some pretty awesome movies, like The Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers, Much Ado About Nothing and Serenity. I didnt really hear much about this movie until recently and when I saw a trailer for this movie it looked pretty interesting and now after watching the movie I actually thought this movie was pretty interesting. Its nothing amazing or anything, but its pretty creative and it has some pretty good actors in it to make the movie more enjoyable. Zoe Kazan and Michael Stahl-David star as the two main characters and both of whom play great parts in this movie and plus their chemistry with each other was very effective. The writing was also pretty decent, when it came to the characters and dialogue the writing was well done, but some parts to the story made no sense and plus there were some major plot holes in this movie, but if you can ignore all of that I think this movie can be enjoyable. The two lead actors were really good in this movie and they had great chemistry with each other. Joss Whedon also gave the film some really good witty dialogue and plus he actually made the characters interesting, which was very good. This isnt Joss Whedons best written film, but its not his worse, its no Alien Resurrection. So I say if you want to watch a nice romantic movie, then check this movie out. Ill give this movie a 7 out of 10.
