Seldom Political Comment.. I was watching a debate last week where a lady of asian origin was pontificating against the glorification and indeed the whole concept of war being wrong. Fortunately the UK didnt start the first or second world wars, we merely defended ours and other countries territories and with help from our allies around the world defeated oppressive regimes twice. Should we not have succeeded, the above mentioned lady would not have been born in this country or have the freedom of speech to express her view. Yet nobody in the debate had the kahunas to politely make this very salient point to her.. I am very glad we are not a German speaking country. When you defeat an oppressor like say Hitler, the sense of elation is relief not glorification.
