Self-accusation is suicide to the soul. Just like a bullet rushes - TopicsExpress

Self-accusation is suicide to the soul. Just like a bullet rushes through the skull of a suicidal person, so do self-accusations do to the soul of a man, only slowly and indefinitely. When you make mistakes you could have avoided if you had consulted, investigated or inquired, you naturally feel horrible. However if the horrible feeling constantly haunts you and leads you to say to yourself things like, Youre so stupid!, You messed up like always!, Youre such a fool! etc, then you should watch out; words have immense potency in them to render a person to literally take their own life. Your soul can withstand the accusations and harmful words of others by speaking to yourself words of life, but rarely does a soul stand firm in the midst of self-depreciating words. The Word of God says that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” (Proverbs 18:21). Our enemy in the spiritual kingdom of darkness is already an accuser of brethren; to accuse yourself is to further his agenda without his intervention. When you have messed up so terribly, find the courage to speak life. Regret and anxiety never fixed anything. Say “I’m beautiful,” “I’m intelligent,” “I’m a conqueror.” Now those words may encourage you but they are nothing compared to the words of the scriptures. “Say I am the righteousness of God through Christ,” “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength,” The scriptures hold the life of the Spirit in them. Every accusation from the flesh and the enemy aims at shaking the identity of the believer in Christ. But you are who you are, Beloved! The child of the king is still the child of the King even when he/she is living in the slums. What that child needs to do is get up and go back home. If you have messed up today, take heart. Rise from your condition of a slum, declare “I am a child of God through Christ Jesus” and march back home to your Father where you will receive mercy and find grace to help you in your hour of need. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those that love it will eat its fruits.
