Self-as-object suggests that people tend to view themselves as objects or rather as subjects from the point of view of others, and then reflects this perception in ways that will portray what they like in themselves in the eyes of others; either to agree or fit what others think of you as appropriate or pleasant in their view or otherwise. It is another way of saying you are seeing yourself in the eyes of others, and this in turn affects your behaviour and self-image in terms of social and cultural roles -or even personal; self-identification.
