Sen. Miriam Santiago advised the three-man blue ribbon - TopicsExpress

Sen. Miriam Santiago advised the three-man blue ribbon subcommittee to end the probe on the alleged overpriced Makati Building 2 and other alleged anomalies of which the three senators have been accusing the Vice President, saying that the evidence is sufficient to turn this over to the Ombudsman. Reacting to the advice of Santiago, the two senators, Alan Cayetano and Antonio Trillanes, were caught like a fish is caught by its mouth, as they virtually admitted they do not have enough evidence against Vice President Jojo Binay on the allegations they have been making. Santiago, in a press release Thursday, said the subcommittee has gathered enough evidence against the Vice President, and that it could already wrap up its inquiry and turn over the matter to the anti-graft body. But at a press conference, Cayetano said the subcommittee was not inclined to wrap up its probe yet, saying the panel was only 50 percent done on its inquiry. Trillanes also yesterday practically admitted that the Senate investigation on the alleged overpriced Makati City hall parking building is a repetition of the plunder case filed before the Office of the Ombudsman. tribune.net.ph/headlines/cayetano-trillanes-admit-no-evidence-vs-vp
