Senate Republicans simply won’t change. After Democrats threatened to reform the filibuster in July, they finally agreed to let a few presidential appointments through. Now, they have filibustered Rep. Mel Watt’s confirmation to the Federal Housing Finance Agency and want to block any judges to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Sen. Lindsey Graham has even said he’ll “block all appointments” because of Benghazi. We won in July, because Senate Democrats had the votes to pass a nuclear option. The only solution to this problem is to finally pass real filibuster reform. Tell Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that it’s time to go nuclear on nominations.
