Its a common-sense move that restores democracy to the Senate, and allows it to work again as the Founding Fathers intended. Mitch McConnell, however, is apoplectic. He raged against this action on the Senate floor, and has decried it since in the media. Well, weve got a simple message for McConnell: Tough. Senator McConnell is the one who made this move necessary. Since becoming minority leader, McConnell staged over 400 filibusters. It was the highest rate of obstruction in history, and an incredible abuse of power – but a badge of honor for McConnell, who once declared himself the proud guardian of gridlock. McConnell broke the Senate, and the Democrats are taking steps to fix it. He doesn’t like it? Tough.
