Send this to all the Zimbabweans living in South Africa. South African work permits dispensation for Zimbabweans. The south African government and its new home affairs minister are trying to take all the work permits given to Zimbabweans in 2010/2011. The law of the nation says if one is issued with a work permit for more than 5 years the applicant will automatically will be given permanent residents in this country. The South African government knew this from the beginning at the time they started giving out permits. Now the case goes like this they are trying with all the powers they have to change this law and thats why they dont want to renew Zimbabweans work permit because if they renew our permits this time, at the end of 4 years period they must issue everybody with temporary residents permit which will result in all of us be given South African IDs. This is the reason why they are trying to let Zimbabweans go back home to apply or renew their permits home. They will put stritly measures like to say no work permits for general workers eg house maids, cleaners, garden workers, drivers, security guards, brick layers and all construction related work, teachers, nurses and etc. Those who will get their permits renewed are engineers, doctors, and etc. They will want to see school certificates, college certificates, university degrees and a letter from South African company hiring you. By doing this they will limit a big number of people coming back. This is the reason why they are trying to let Zimbabweans go back home to apply or renew their permits home. Now lets all of us come together and say No to this. We must protest at that time when they will say go back we will have peaceful demonstration in all big cities like Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, port Elizabeth, East London. By protesting we will surrender the draft biil of law to the parliament of South African. We can go to the court and we will win this case. Our Zimbabwean home affairs minister Kembo Hohadi will be coming to South Africa to meet the South African counterpart to talk about this issue that Zimbabweans must renew our permits here in SA not in Harare.
