Senior Arabic Content Editor JOB SUMMARY An opportunity has arisen for a talented, driven and creative Senior Arabic Content Editor to join a specialist Search Optimised Content Marketing agency in our Amman office. The successful candidate will have a strong journalistic background, with 2+ years experience managing an editorial team and overseeing the production of high quality Arabic content – preferably online. This position oversees all Arabic content development initiatives for both Sekari and our clients across multiple online platforms and formats to drive engagement, retention, leads and positive customer behavior. The Content Editor is wholly responsible for the strategy, creation and implementation of our content strategies online, developing engaging content across multiple industry sectors and clients. Managing a team of writers, you will be in charge of coming up with a creative content strategy which fits the brand story, understanding news and articles that the audience want to consume and managing an editorial process to deliver on time. A key part of this role is understanding the type and quality of content that is required in order to get published by 3rd party online publishers/editors. Ultimately, the job of the Content Editor is to think like a publisher/journalist, leading the development of content initiatives. This is a hands-on role and the candidate will be expected to produce a lot of the content themselves. RESPONSIBILITIES Brainstorming, researching and writing original engaging articles for the target audience Lead and manage a team of Arabic copywriters Setting and executing the editorial requirements, from delegating tasks to making sure deadlines are met Edit articles and headlines, improving clarity and editorial voice while ensuring that the articles are accurate and creative to catch the reader’s attention Adhering to brand guidelines and required writing style where necessary Employing SEO Optimisation Strategies and Practices SKILLS 2+ years experience in leading an editorial team Flawless Arabic grammar and editing skills Training as a print or online journalist and has an aptitude for creating a story Understanding of how to tell a story using words, images, video or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience Skill at both long-form content creation and real-time (immediate) content creation and distribution strategies and tactics The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns. Fluency in web analytics tools (Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics), social media marketing applications (HootSuite, Tweetdeck, etc.) and leading social media monitoring platforms (Radian6, Brandwatch etc.) A passion for new technology tools (aka, using the tools you preach about) and usage of those tools within your own blogs and social media outreach. Social DNA a plus! Team Player and have high attention to details Experience in generating successful Arabic online content. Very strong English communication skills Passionate about creating online content EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field MBA in marketing a plus Minimum 5 years in publishing, journalism or public relations Experience optimising copy for SEO purposes Expertise in all major business software applications (Microsoft Office, etc.) Translation Skills (EN to AR & AR to EN) The salary range for this position is 650 JD to 850 JD.
