Job Reference Number: LAG/SGISS01 Job Title:: Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist Reports to: Managing Director Description: The ideal candidate will perform comprehensive and complex work in the development, maintenance, and provision of technical support for the Geographic Information System (GIS). He or she will have hands-on experience in geocoding, feature extraction, geospatial data collection and processing. Job Responsibilities • Lead GIS projects including scope and budget preparation. • Create and maintain spatial information in a variety of platforms in various GIS software packages including: ESRI ArcGIS, Open source GIS platform and Open/closed-source relational databases • Identify data requirements. • Research and maintain data. • Create and maintain data structures containing project and cross-project data. • Manage GIS tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget. Qualification • Minimum of a first degree. • MBA or M.Sc in GIS will be an added advantage. • A relevant GIS certification is desirable. Experience • Minimum of 7 years relevant GIS experience. • Proven skills using ESRI ArcGIS suite of products, including ArcGIS Server (e.g. map and web services), and system design and administration. • Expert knowledge of co-ordinate systems, projections and datums. • Proven experience in GIS automation and workflow enhancement with Python or other relevant languages. • Candidate must be ready to travel extensively within and outside Nigeria.
