Senior Project Engineer - Penrith City Council Penrith An opportunity exists within Council’s City Works team for a qualified civil engineer to experience working in both an urban and rural environment. As Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of construction and maintenance works by contractors and Council resources. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person with good communication skills to organise and plan the day to day management of staff, plant and material supplies. Essential Criteria: * A degree in civil engineering or a related discipline * Extensive experience in civil engineering or a related field * Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance works * Experience in project management and supervision * Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in the preparation, evaluation and supervision of contracts * Demonstrated knowledge of project estimating and cost control * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of, and ability to implement, the principles of Equal * Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Work Health and Safety (WHS) * A current Class C driver licence Desirable Criteria: * Experience in the use of computer based Project Management software * Understanding of design criteria and technical specifications related to road and drainage construction, including survey control * Previous experience with Local Government Commencing Salary: $88,100 per annum (includes market forces allowance) To view the position description and submit your application, please visit penrithcity.nsw.gov.au.
