Senior at Kennedy .......so sad...... A teenage girl died after she jumped in front of an outbound CTA Orange Line train this evening, causing a partial suspension in service for the trains heading to and from Midway International Airport, officials said.. The incident took place on the Orange Line tracks at 49th Street and Western Avenue on the Southwest Side, according to Chicago Fire Department Spokesman Larry Langford. The girl jumped in front of the outbound train in an apparent suicide, police said. Officials said the girl, who lived on the Southwest Side, was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m. on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiners office. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday. Paramedics were called to the scene at about 6:30 p.m. found the person dead under a train, Langford said. Officials were involved in trying to recover the remains of the person who has died. As a result of the incident, there was no Orange Line service between 35th Street/Archer and Midway for several hours, according to CTA officials. Trains ran between Midway and Kedzie and from the Archer/35th Street station to the the Loop until service resumed around 10 p.m.
