*Seniors* Buncrana 0-12 CLG BnaG 2-13 Points on the board at last for the Seniors, and they were thoroughly deserved. THe Seniors recent performances have deserved victories but they were unquestionably the better team tonight in Buncrana, a place not many visiting teams will come away with anything. One spectator called Na Galloglaighs first half performance Total Football, and they werent far wrong. The lads were simply superb in the first half, they were strong and hungry in the tackle and breaking ball, of which they won the vast majority, while in possession they were assured and confident in retaining it. Buncrana didnt know what hit them as the blues raced into a 1-5 to 0-1 lead midway through the first half, although Buncrana did claw themselves back into it to leave it 1-7 to 0-5 at the break. The Seniors continued were they left off at the break and continued to perform very well, with the closest Buncrana getting to them being 3 points. The lads worked their socks off for the full 60 minutes and put their bodies on the line when needed, with Christopher Barrett in particular looking like he might require stitches in the eyebrow after a particularly robust challenge. Brandon Toye picked up a black card with 12 minutes remaining which saw the return of Darragh Black to the Senior setup, while Dean Burgess also seen a black card in a game that while being physical wasnt necessarily dirty. Buncrana also seen a man get his marching orders with a second yellow with 5 minutes remaining. With 4 points between the sides the blues had a great chance to kill the game off when they were awarded a penalty when Pauric Curley was dragged down in the box. Cathal Mc Gettigans penalty was saved by the feet of the keeper but the rebound came off the crossbar into the hands of Kane Barrett and he finished with a aplomb from all of about a yard. This allowed the lads to see the game out in relative comfort, despite the 6 minutes injury time played by the ref. If tonight has showing anything is that these boys can mix with anyone in this division on their day. Have they turned the corner? We will soon see next week as they take on Naomh Columba at home next Saturday, although this win should surely give them plenty of confidence and hopefully they can get the season back on track. Team: Caolan Mc Gettigan, Brandon Toye, Sean Black, Gavin Grier, Manus Boyce, Conor McNulty, Dean Burgess, Kieran Gorman, Luke Barrett (0-3), Jonny Logue, Pauric Curley, Cathal McGettigan (0-6), Kane Barrett (1-2), Chippie Barrett (1-1), Gary Merritt. Subs: Darragh Black (0-1) for Toye (48m), Anthony Fisher for Burgess (52m), Cormac Friel, Gavin McFadden, Kieran Sheridan, Emmet Conaghan, Ryan Ferry The Reserves were also much improved this evening and were only a point down at half time, but struggled against the breeze in the second half to lose 3-15 to 2-10.
