Sent to; 28th September, 2014 The UNHCR Chief of Mission in India B-2/16, Vasant ViharNew Delhi - 110057India RE: Letter of Request For The Rohingya Refugees of Jammu And Kashmir, India Dear Sir, I would like to write a letter for the Rohingya Refugees of Myanmar, especially those who are living in Jammu and Kashmir, India. At first I would like to introduce myself who am I and from where. My name is Ziyabul Hoque. I am staying in the area of Jammu and I reached here three months ago but I have finished my first interview, my second interview is next November and I am also waiting for next interview. I am writing this letter with four points of view which relate directly to the Rohingya Refugees of Jammu and Kashmir. 1. Refugee Status - Life in Limbo and Access to UNHCR It is very important being a Rohingya refugee of Myanmar because thousands of us have been kept in the prisons of India just for being refugees. Another one event is that about the careers of Rohingya refugees in India which is really depressible where is living without the refugee status of UNHCR. Rohingya refugees are really suffering with their families in this present time so they cant afford to travel the long way of Jammu and the capital Delhi. Most of the Rohingya refugees are living in Jammu and Kashmir as well as many Rohingya refugees are suffering here too. So I want to request that it will become the best helpline for Rohingya refugees if the UNHCR is open here in Jammu. 2. Education for Rohingya Refugees Education can change our lives - it is necessary for all Rohingya refugees. We want to contribute as full members of society. Many Rohingya young generations are surviving here without education - too busy trying to make enough money to keep ourselves alive to take time for education. Young refugee generations miss out on education because of their struggle for life. 3. Health Care Program Rohingya Refugees are impatiently suffering from the health care system. Most Rohingya refugees are suffering - and some are dying - due to lack of adequate health care as their financial situation is dire. 4. Living Conditions The last request is that about the living condition of Rohingya refugees with their families and environment. Most of the Rohingya Refugees are living in dirty place and rural or forest areas. Some Rohingya are suffering from the various types of diseases and others Rohingya refugees are dying by the fearful snake. Many Rohingya Refugees have been bitten by the snakes and mostly have been died but some Rohingya Refugees are alive by the help of Indian Governments Snake Hospital because they are surviving in temporarily tents where is very easy to bite and killed by the dangerous animals.
