Sent to Senator Hites Aide this am - I see there was Informal Sponsor Testimony this morning on HB490… On the House side for HB490, Representative Dave Hall had ORC 956.03 and 956.04 amended watering down SB130 (Puppy Mill Bill) from the 129th General Assembly even more, making the renewal application process for High Volume Breeders even more simplistic and lowering the bond / insurance requirements for them… High Volume Breeders are in business to make money and this should be a part of doing business, just like all other businesses that are required to post bonds, have insurance and apply for applications and it should not be made more easy for them at the expense of the animals and the general public, should all those dogs be seized due to issues with the breeder… Now that HB490 is in the Senate Agriculture Committee, what are the chances of getting HB57 (Humane Agent Training / Certification / Residency Requirements) amended to the bill??? If you are uncomfortable in replying in writing via email, please call me so we can discuss at your convenience… ~Mike
