September 10, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sunday’s NFL game between the Titans & Cowboys is a sellout, increasing the potential for counterfeit tickets to be peddled to unsuspecting fans this weekend. Plainclothes Metro police officers will be on foot downtown and on streets near LP Field Sunday looking for individuals selling bogus tickets. Depending on the circumstances and the number of fake tickets on hand, those persons could be charged with felony criminal simulation. Buyers of tickets from unofficial sources are strongly cautioned that they do so at their own risk. Holders of counterfeit tickets will not be admitted into the stadium. Persons who do purchase tickets from a secondary source are encouraged to ask the seller for identification and record all identifying information. One particular scam that has occurred over the past year involved the sale of purportedly valid Ticketmaster tickets on 8 ½ x 11pieces of paper. The first valid sheet was printed from the Internet. The scammer then made a number of photocopies and illegally sold them as good tickets. FANS URGED TO ARRIVE EARLY As this is the first regular season Titans home game, fans are urged to avoid traffic congestion and arrive at LP Field early. Gates open at 10 a.m. Stadium parking lots open at 8 a.m. to fans with parking passes. There is no cash parking on the LP Field campus. Fans without parking passes are urged to save time and park in the downtown area and walk to the game or ride an InShuttle Transportation bus. Inshuttle will provide service ($10 round trip) from Greer Stadium parking lots as well as state parking areas at 10th Circle North & Charlotte Avenue and Rosa L. Parks Blvd & 10th Circle North beginning at 10:30 a.m. Game transportation is also available via the Music City Star train, musiccitystar.org/pdf_News/n263.pdf Officers throughout the Titans season will enforce a no parking restriction on Oldham Street, just off North 1st Street. The restriction is necessary to ensure that emergency vehicles can respond to the area unimpeded if necessary. WOODLAND STREET BRIDGE As will be the case with all Sunday noon games, the Woodland Street Bridge will close to regular traffic by 9:30 a.m. It will then be available to pedestrians and shuttle buses only. KOREAN WAR VETERANS MEMORIAL BRIDGE The Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (Gateway Bridge), which connects East Nashville to downtown, will be open to eastbound and westbound traffic until the beginning of the 4th quarter each game this season (Public Works crews begin to set the streets for mass egress at the beginning of the 4th quarter). At the beginning of the 4th quarter, all lanes of the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (Gateway Bridge) will be open to westbound traffic only, which should more quickly disperse congestion around LP Field. BAG RESTRICTIONS Those attending the game are reminded of the NFL’s league-wide restrictions, implemented last year, on what can be brought into stadiums. Anything larger than a clutch style purse must be a clear plastic bag, medical items excluded. LP Field security staff will be enforcing the bag policy.
