Incumbent serves as Housekeeper for Water Pollution Control and is responsible for performing general cleaning duties in offices, laboratories, and Wastewater Treatment Plant. DUTIES: Performs general cleaning of plant offices, lavatories, laboratories, hallways, and other areas as assigned by the supervisor, such as stripping, waxing, and polishing the floors, dusting, washing windows and walls, emptying trash, and cleaning restrooms. Maintains all assigned areas in a neat, clean, and sanitary condition, inspecting all areas for debris or hazardous conditions, such as slippery floors or walks. Corrects or reports as appropriate. Replaces light bulbs as needed. Properly operates cleaning equipment, such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and buffers, using care and safety precautions, and returning to appropriate storage locations. Shovels, sweeps, and salts sidewalks to remove snow, ice, dirt, leaves, and debris. May periodically assist in maintaining WPC grounds, such as mowing, trimming weeds, and picking up trash and debris. Drives vehicle to and from various assigned work sites. Performs related duties as directed by the supervisor.
