September 13, 2014 Here is your daily reminder about the One by One Challenge, along with some inspiration and an acknowledgement. PLEASE READ... The truth is that this challenge has not been as successful as I thought it would be...we are only asking people to each give $1.00 and challenge 5 others to do the same. Only about 15 of the Ohana that participate on a regular basis have taken the challenge. 15 out of over 4,000 people who like and follow our page. Karla Clearman is one of those, and 95% of the funds we have raised have been due to her efforts...she has really stepped up to the challenge and with a few simple posts she has encouraged her friends to give over $500.00!! This morning she shared the same post I am, and added a photo of Iris stealing the half and half that I posted a few days ago. Along with that photo she posted this very heartfelt message...in the first 30 minutes two people accepted the challenge and their contributions have been received. I also invite you to follow Angels With Misplaced Wings on Facebook as well….especially if you need some laughs in your life! Meet Iris, the most infamous angel (seen here making her getaway after stealing the half-n-half)!! She is a deaf Dalmatian who has neurological deficits as well. The good news ~ shes been grand-mal seizure-free for an entire year!! But she suffers from impulse control issues that will likely be with her for life. THIS is the type of dog who would end up in shelters over and over again, simply because people do not know how to handle these issues. Not with AWMW!! Iris has a home where she is loved and adored as is and where she receives the best medical care available. And THAT is what AWMW is all about. Karla you have our deepest appreciation for your love and support in addition to your willingness to simply share and speak from your heart. Please acknowledge yourself for making a difference...not only for The Angels, but for yourself and the people you have reached out to...you are doing something very powerful. I also want to acknowledge all the others that have participated in the challenge...you have made a difference as well simply by making your $1.00 contribution (or more)...we deeply appreciate you!!
