September 17,1948: Actor John Ritter (best known for his role of Jack Tripper on the late-1970s hit sitcom Threes Company) is born in Burbank, California. John Ritter actually has many Disney connections. He appeared in the 1971 Disney live-action film The Barefoot Executive, and several Disney television specials including Mickeys 60th Birthday, The Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park Grand Opening, and Walt Disney World Christmas Parade. Ritter later went on to star in the Touchstone/ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, (which, interestingly, premiered this day, in 2002) until his untimely death in 2003.
