September 22, 2013 God has Respect for Prayer Wouldn’t you like to know that God hears and honors the prayers that you pray? According to this great passage in 2 Chronicles 7 God Has Respect for Prayer that meets the requirements that He places upon prayer that will get results. 2 Chron. 7:15-16 says, “Now Mine eyes shall be open, and Mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there for ever: and Mine eyes and Mine heart shall be there perpetually.” May I remind us of those great verses in Isaiah 59:1-2 about God’s ability to hear and work in our behalf as we pray. “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save (deliver); neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.” Yes, God’s eyes and ears are open and He stands ready to work in out behalf, but the problem or reason He does not work is usually due to our sins. Sin must be dealt with, and when it is, then we can know He stands ready to work in our hearts and in our lives. If we will open our hearts to Him then He can work. May we seek Him in prayer and as we do, may we confess our sin and let Him bring the forgiveness and the healing that we so desperately need. 2 Chron. 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him....” We, may think that big brother or the long arm of the law knows way too much about us, and I agree with you. But, they don’t have anything on God, because He has His eyes and ears open and He hears and sees all. We cannot hide anything from God, close doors do not matter to God. He sees and know all and we cannot get away from Him no matter how hard we try. Ps 139:7 says, “Where shall I go from Your spirit? or where shall I flee from Your presence?” There is no place that we can hide from God. He sees all and knows all. God sees the Peril of our Nation, and I do believe that He stands ready and willing to help. The question is will we pay the price and pray? Phil. 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Rev. 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” God waits on us to respond. He wants to send renewal and heal our land. Will we pay price and forsake our sin and commit our lives to Him? Why did I choose to share a devotion like this at a time such as this? Because we are a nation in peril. This devotion is for me, the church and our nation? I believe God stands ready to work. I do believe that Renewal/Revival can be a Reality because God has called us to it. So, if we the REMNANT will humble ourselves, and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways - Then God’s PROMISE is: He will HEAR and WILL heal our land. A remnant is present today – Will you accept the challenge to be worthy of being people called by HIS name? God’s alter is always open and He calls for all of us who long to see God work in our lives, His church, and in our nation to the altar of prayer. We must come to a place of getting right with God and with others. Will you commit to pray? Is there any sin in our life toward God or toward a brother or sister in Christ? We must confess it and seek His forgiveness or He’ll not hear and not send renewal. What will you do? Harbor sin or seek forgiveness?
