September 28, 2014 Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues; I don’t know where to even begin, so I guess it just has to be the way it is and what life has now dealt me. I wanted you to know in writing rather than word of mouth that my family and you have had a very great loss, as my son Colby James has chosen a different path. I received word Friday via San Diego Department of Medical Examiners office that my Son chose to take his own life last week and was found, and pronounced deceased Friday September 26th at 10:20 am EST. As his father I am devastated, shocked, dazed, confused and of course what we all ask is WHY? But as someone said to me don’t ask why we don’t need reasons as they are just that “Reasons”. No one told us that life works all the time. I can’t express how much this hurts as Colby is not only my son, but my best friend and my buddy. His mother Sherri said to me… that we; Colby, Sherri and I all grew up together, how true! I love that kid so much and I am sure he has touched you in one way or another. Hell you couldn’t resist his sense of humor, honest affection and that everlasting smile that only Colby has! So cherish what you have and live in the moment, as you just never know what you have or may lose! We will be holding a Life Celebration-Service October 12th 2014 in San Diego, details have yet to be arranged but I will get them to you as soon as I have them set up.
