September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The - TopicsExpress

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The #GoingGoldForChildhoodCancer campaign is to raise awareness for the kiddos that are currently battling cancer, kiddos that are survivors of cancer and also to honor the kiddos whose lives ended way too soon because of cancer. EVERY DAY 46 children (and their families) hear what no parent/child wants to hear..a cancer diagnosis. EVERY DAY 7 children die from cancer. To help with this campaign change your profile picture, put a gold ribbon on your car, turn your front porch light gold.. all of these things help support these kiddos and their families and raises awareness which leads to an increase of donations/funding for desperately needed research for PEDIATRIC medications and treatment developed specifically for children. Downtown Fort Worth, Texas joined the campaign and went Gold. The beautiful photographs below show the Pier One Building and many other businesses and buildings lighting up Gold for these precious kiddos. The last picture shows Sundance Square lighting up Gold. There are many foundations that you can go to to support, get information and donate to that will help in many different ways. Here are a couple that are very dear to me: #ThumbsUpForLaneGoodwinFoundation #JessieReesFoundationNeveEverGiveUp! I need to also say a very special thank you to #BrianLuenser. He is the photographer that went above and beyond my request for him to take a picture of the Pier One Building Going Gold. He is an extremely talented photographer that captures images around Fort Worth and every where he goes really. He is also a kind and generous man that has helped to raise awareness through his photographs and made a lot of kiddos smile and know just how much they are cared for. So thank you Brian. He has a Facebook page that he shares his stunning work on, so go check it out. (Brian Luenser)
