Seriously? College students are not equipped to answer such questions? I find just the opposite to be true. Student evaluations are honest and insightful, particularly with regard to a teachers efficacy. I dont care how easy a teacher is, if the class is painful to attend (i.e., boring, unclear focus, etc.), his/her ratings will not be favorable. Most important of all is that evaluations provide valuable feedback concerning ways to improve instruction. But its how theyre used that matters. Just as with standardized tests, evaluations should be used to assess a teachers performance and his/her growth as an educator.
