Seriously, can anyone give me a sensible answer on why a filibuster is an acceptable tactic? (Other than "it looks great on TV news.") If a properly elected legislature has followed proper procedures in creating an item of legislation, and a majority of that properly elected legislature want to vote it into effect, then allowing one dissenter to hijack the process and prevent a vote by simply making a spectacle of him/herself is both obnoxious and quite literally unjust.
