Service Project on November 14th I just added this event to the FISH calendar. This should give everyone enough time to prepare and shop for the day. I hope your family can participate! God Bless, Becky ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be a Blessing to children in Equador, Rwanda, Peru and throughout the world by packing a shoebox filled with gifts! We will be packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child on Thursday, November 14th at 1:00 PM at the Sequoya Public Library in Madison. If you are not familiar with Operation Christmas Child, it is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an organization founded by Billy Graham to deliver gift-filled shoeboxes and the Good News of Jesus to hurting children throughout the world. Many of the children who receive these boxes have never gotten a Christmas gift and it may be the only opportunity they will ever hear the Gospel. If you want more information on this program, visit samaritanspurse.org So, what do you need to do? First, bring an empty shoe box (or small plastic container) filled with a variety of gifts (see gift suggestions below). You will need to determine whether your gifts will be for a boy or girl and what age category: 2-5, 5-9, or 10-14. I have a few extra shoe boxes if you need one. Second, bring a $7 donation per box to cover shipping to get your gift box overseas. You can either give online (and track the destination of your box) or give using a donation envelope (which I have). On the day of our “Packing Party” we will wrap the boxes and fill out an “All About Me” sheet to place in the box. We will also pray for all of our boxes before they are sent off. If you can’t make it to the packing party, but would like to participate anyway, that would be great! You could pack your box ahead of time, donate items for the boxes, donate shoeboxes, donate wrapping paper, or give a monetary gift to cover shipping of the boxes. Also, if you would like to participate and funds are a problem, let me know and we can work something out. If you have any questions, please let me know. I pray we can be a blessing to children all over the world, right here from Madison! “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:16 GIFT SUGGESTIONS: TOYS!
