Services for Grace Fernandez father, Leonidez Oscar Fernandez, will be held Monday, October 6th & on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. July 17, 1927 - October 3, 2014 Leonidez Oscar Fernandez Sr. El Patron went home to heaven on Friday, October 3, 2014. Mr. Fernandez was born to Alfredo and Guadalupe Fernandez on July 17, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas along with six siblings, Rudy, Arturo, Dora, Gladys, Rebecca and Gilbert Fernandez. He was a man of God who traveled to Mexico with his wife Elisa Fernandez to preach the good news of Jesus Christ. He lived life to the fullest, traveled across the United States, briefly lived in Colorado, enjoyed fishing and camping around the local rivers, lakes and, for the last 15 years lived on his ranch in Hondo, Texas. He is one of the oldest surviving produce men that started a business on the old produce row, across the street from the Old Farmers Market. He prospered and moved to his new market on Zarzamora St., as of date known as Produce Express, Inc. He is now home, in heaven with Jesus, rejoicing. He is survived by his beautiful and beloved wife Eliza Fernandez and children; Leonidez Fernandez Jr., wife Diana; Ruben and wife Mary-Ann; Alfredo Fernandez and daughter Graciela Fernandez. Grandchildren; Michael and spouse Cassaundra, Vanessa, Anthony, Andrea and spouse Armond, Gloria, Leo and Eric, Janelle and spouse Milo, Jessica and spouse Salvador, Barbara, Ruben Jr., Christina, Joshua and Jordan, Christopher, Elisa and Susan and spouse Hector. Great-Grandchildren; Mercedes, Charlotte, Amelia, Jude-Michael, Armond, Salvador, Nick, Madyln, Ruby, Xavier, Tony, Mila J. and Jaxson. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th beginning at 5:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough with a Prayer Service in the Chapel at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, October 7th, a service will be held at 12:00/Noon in the Porter Loring Chapel followed by interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
