Serving is full of multitasking; making people happy, getting good quality food and drinks to people in a good time, and other little things for guests. Its harder than most people would think. I love to get to hear peoples stories and get to chat with many different people everyday. The thing that kills me is that servers usually make $2.13 an hour because guests are expected to tip, the suggested tip in an average restaurant when received great service is 20%. We arent working for the restaurant. We are working for the guests! If you cant afford to tip well, write a simple good job or thank you on the receipt or stop the manager and compliment your server, we love little things like that. Or if you had poor service maybe leave a verbal or written tip about how your server could improve so they can make a better living off of their other guests! Never forget the amount of work we are doing for $2.13 an hour! -rc servers 20/F
