Set TCCOR 3 for CFAY Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka has directed the setting of Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) III for Yokosuka, Ikego, and Negishi(to include all areas under CFAY) due to Typhoon 18W (PHANFONE). Onset of destructive winds is currently expected to occur at 0300 local, MON 06 OCT (gusts equal to or greater than 60 kts). Small variations in forecast track may result in greater sustained wind speeds, duration and timing, but given the predicted arrival on MONDAY morning, preparations are being made to be storm ready (TCCOR 1 attainment) by SUNDAY afternoon. Please take all reasonable precautions to prepare for high winds and heavyweather, including securing outdoor lawn furniture, toys, sheds, etc. Anticipate setting TCCOR II on SATURDAY Evening 05 OCT. EXPECTED IMPACTS on MONDAY morning: No School on Monday. NEX, NEX-MART, Mini-MART, Commissary, and Base Clubs will be closed. Base Galley and FLEET REC food court will be OPEN. Navy Lodge will remain open. CDC/SAC will be open to children of emergency essential personnel only. Most MWR services including clubs and restaurants will re-open two hours after the ALL CLEAR is given. Specific service impacts shall be posted on CFAY Facebook page and on Base Channel 15.
