At 36, (birth date November 3, 1978) he wants to continue playing rugby for Fiji. His idol had that same wish a few years back before he was booted out as national coach and player. Today, Serevi is fast becoming a successful businessman based in the United States of America – building Serevi Rugby into a multi-million dollar international business in a partnership with the greats of rugby 7s; Ben Gollings, Santiago Gómez Cora and New Zealand 7s coach Sir Gordon Tietjens. Cakau, a former Fiji Corrections Service warden, is one of the three players recalled into the Vodafone Fii 7s team. “I am 36 and age is catching up very fast. I know I can still run, and like Serevi, I still want to represent Fiji for as long as it takes,” Cakau said during the naming of the national 7s team at the MHCC, Suva last Friday. “I love rugby and I love my country. “I thank coach Ben Ryan for giving me another chance and I will make sure that I lead by example on the field. “I am still fit and I can still run past some young players, but I know my role in the team is to help Fiji win and help our young players. “Japan will be tough because the weather will be cold and our pool is tough too. “We have to work hard, play with discipline and take each match seriously because all teams are unpredictable, no matter whether they are from a small nation,” the Nakavika Village, Namosi native said. “Hong Kong is something special to Fiji and I will make sure that my contribution will help us win. “This is a good team because of its mix and we thank the country for supporting us. Your prayers will mean a lot when we play, please pray for us.” Fiji is pooled with France, United States and Samoa in the Tokyo 7s. Nadi’s Vatemo Ravouvou is the lone new cap in the Ben Ryan-coached side to the Japan 7s next weekend and the Hong Kong 7s a week later. Cakau, Apisai Domolailai, Jasa Veremalua, Waisea Nacuqu and Vatemo Ravouvou joins skipper Osea Kolinisau, Pio Tuwai, Benito Masilevu, Emosi Mulevoro, Donasio Ratubuli, Samisoni Viriviri and Leo Naikasau for the Tokyo and So Kon Po trips.
