Seven MSP Prisoners Graduate First Ever Challenge Program AUGUSTA - On March 14, 2014, seven prisoners at Maine State Prison in Warren became the facilitys first class to complete and graduate a six-month Challenge Program course they started in October 2013. Topics studied include Rational Thinking, Criminal Lifestyles, Violence Prevention, and Communication Skills. The Challenge Journal series was developed in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. It focuses on helping high-risk inmates live a life free of criminal activity, violence and drug use and emphasizes the importance of building a healthy support community. The seven graduates — Henry, Earl, Allen, Leroy, Brad, Chad, Shawn — are pictured here with their Challenge Program facilitator Christopher Spear, and their Unit Manager Tony Mendez. [Scott K Fish, Director of Special Projects Note: I posted an earlier version of this graduation class, saying it is an ACT Program class. I am sorry. I was wrong.]
