Several days ago I shared some thoughts on the Town of Christiansburgs new method of collection of our trash once a week. I said I thought the CONTAINER PROVIDED was TOO SMALL and that the Town wants $17 to provide a SECOND CONTAINER and pick it up with the one arm bandit. That is $17 PER MONTH!! Just for fun I put the 96 gallon town container out this past Monday (our regular collection day.) With only Pat and me using it, as I predicted it was filled to overflowing & the top would not close. I ALSO had one of my personal cans out, also full. THE TOWN COLLECTORS LEFT THE TOWN CONTAINER at the curb (it is still there) and emptied my container. {all they had to do was take the bags out of the town bucket & throw it in the truck!) I TOOK PICTURES OF NUMEROUS FULL TOWN CONTAINERS filled to overflowing throughout the town. I shall have one of my Granddaughters post our container this week!! I wonder what families of 4, 6 or more are going to do?? STAY TUNED.
