Several have asked on the status of Antonia who suffered an injury in September, she ruptured her ACL sprained her MCL and also had a fractured tibia, this was extremely tough news to accept as this is of course her Senior year. It wasnt sure if she would be able to attend NY but, as a team we werent having it it any other way. Even if it meant we pushed her the whole parade... She was able to attend the trip to New York and perform in the parade, in a supported brace... She is now preparing for her surgery during Christmas break... Here are the facts that we know and any news or updates will follow as we receive... She is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday the 23rd, yes this is only 3 days from today, but it is a gruelling waiting game at this point. We will arrive at Leesburg Regional Hospital by 5:30 a.m. her surgeon is Dr. Issac Mitchell with Tri-County Orthopedics. We have had all her neccasary pre-op appointments. From my understanding she is arriving 2 hours prior to surgery time, the procedure will be approximately another 2 hours, then recovery, hoping to be back home by 11:30-12ish maybe sooner if all goes well. I will say, I am nervous and shes getting a bit scared and nervous herself with it all coming to a head but we both believe and know that God has this situation like all the other things that circulate within our lives. She will be in a locked brace that she is required to wear 24 hrs with the exception of some stretching she will be required to do twice a day for 15-20 mins starting next day after surgery. She will be out if commission for definitely 2 weeks which is all of Christmas break. The overall recovery of an injury like this could be anywhere from 6-9 months...
