Several months ago, I was approached to perform at the Town and County Club. Not being one to miss out on a chance to promote our show, I enlisted the help of Laura Laura Roberts Garger and Al Girard and performed KCs two song from My Favorite Year. We won over some new audience members, including a woman who approached us and said, Im starting your new fan club. I will admit, I was not expecting much...I had no idea community theater could be THAT good. You people are trained professionals! To which Laura grinned and said, Yes. Yes we are!. The woman went on to say, I do a lot of work with the Hartford Stage, and Im married to an opera snob who usually decides which shows we go to....but I am winning this one. We are coming to see your show, and I cant wait! Pretty high praise, indeed! So heres Funny/The Duck Joke, featuring the fabulous Laura Garger...we did have a moment where we all broke down because the sound effect we worked so hard on didnt happen (husband version 6.4 is not compatible with the iphone4s) but everyone laughed and we went on.
