Several years ago I read a book called The Hot Zone, by Richard Preston. The opening chapters were about the EBOLA virus. As I read about this viral disease I thought to myself, this could be the death of us all. Ebola has no known cure and it pretty much kills anyone who gets it. 5000 people have died in West Africa to date and thousands more have the virus. They will all probably die too. So, a man with the disease comes to the US from West Africa and dies. Two healthcare workers now have the disease due to direct contact with Mr. Duncan. If they had read the book they would have known how virulent this disease is and how easy it is to become infected. They would also have known that is has a 90+% mortality rate. The CDC, our trillion dollar government center for disease control, has no clue, and they are not letting us in on how very dangerous this virus is. The people in Dallas who mis-managed Mr. Duncan and his case have no clue either. They should have read the book. Ebola, just trying to stay alive itself, kills its victim and spreads itself to other victims through vomit, diarrhea, and other bodily fluids...even after the victim is dead. Maybe you should just read the book. Maybe the people in Dallas and Atlanta should read the book. If this virus mutates and becomes airborne, so you can catch it by breathing, large numbers of people may die. I asked a couple of friends at a party tonight, Would you accuse me of trying to scare you if I told you your house was on fire, if it was on fire? They both said no. I dont know what will happen next, and I hope someone listens to the people who understand how truly dangerous this could be for the masses. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hot_Zone
