Several years ago I was reading a book in which the quote “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu, appeared. Since then it has been my motto. When you think about it, every journey begins with one step. We are often hesitant to start and question whether or not we should even try. Yet, we do. We meet people along the way, some that harm us and some that help us heal. We cross rough ground, climb steep mountains, walk the beaches and through the fields. We find ourselves in strong winds, cold weather and storms. We also see many days of sunshine and warmth. We encounter detours and short cuts. We have our doubts and question our motives and often those of others. Through love, perseverance, strength, will, desire and the help and support of others - we all eventually reach our goals (whether the original or the detour driven modification). There were many times along the way we wanted to quit and we likely did not end up where we originally planned, but we sit back, take in the view and are in awe that we finally made it and it is amazing! After a few moments, we begin to take the first step of our next journey. Life is one long journey consisting of numerous “mini” journeys. No matter which leg of your journey you are on, take the time to enjoy the walk. Find and see the beauty in all of it and make your life journey a truly grand one! ~ Chris
