#Severe #Thunderstorm Warning *Detailed - #Brisbane* - Damaging/Destructive Winds + Large Hail #BneStorms #QLDStorms #SEQ #QLD #Storms #QLDWeather Issued at 3:27 pm Saturday, 27 September 2014. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:30 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near southern parts of North Stradbroke Island. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect Dunwich, Peel Island and Amity Point by 4:00 pm and southern Moreton Island by 4:30 pm. Destructive winds and large hailstones are likely. Other severe thunderstorms were located near Numinbah Valley and Little Nerang Dam. They are forecast to affect Mudgeeraba by 4:00 pm and Southport and waters off from Gold Coast Seaway by 4:30 pm. Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 4:30 pm.
