Shades at nationals.... This was one of those nationals you have to look at the good and the bad. Shades is one of the hardest dogs I have ever handled. He is not like his mother who is the type of dog I knew would always perform a certain way. Shades is tough and without having him in the ring for 7 months and then not able to practice much it showed. I was thrilled I was able to show him. That was my goal, to show my own dogs. Now I didnt say show them well.... It was sad because I decided to basically retire him from showing after this nationals and I just wish I had my real show dog there. But... I just had Shades the clown and well he did have fun. And at the end that is what matters is the relationship with the animal and not the ribbons.... So Shades, you were the silly boy I know so well and we did it, we made it around the ring multiple times without too many hops or limps... love you Shady Baby!
