Shall we have a bad-suburban-paths competition? Here are a couple - TopicsExpress

Shall we have a bad-suburban-paths competition? Here are a couple of the accessawys between cul-de-sacs near my place. After lobbying the council, at least a couple of angled kerbs were replaced by ramps, which is great. (No footpaths on the cul-de-sacs, but theyre quiet and visibility is reasonable most of the time.) However check out the surface on the second photo! Ancient cobbled concrete or aggregated limestone of some sort, very very rough and painful to roll over, if you can manage it in the first place. And thirdly there are the anti-cripple bollards at the bottom of the path: close together and no paved space on either side, so not possible to put a scooter through them without going up on the rough grassed area. Reported to the council long ago, in a face-to-face roll-around. Followed up. No action. Padbury, WA (Joondalup council).
