Shalom friends! These days I am doing my devotion with God based on the book of beginnings – Genesis. What a deep spiritual wealth we have hidden inside this great book!!! Let me share a nugget or two from what I found in it today. (i) Man is responsible for the MESS but God is the provider of the SOLUTION. In spite of what happened in the Garden of Eden, in spite of Satan’s deceitfulness and Lucifer craftiness in deceiving Eve, in spite of man’s disobedience and all the blame that went around, God came up with the SOLUTION to the PROBLEM created by man – The Sacrificial Lamb of God. “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her SEED; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel” (Gen. 3:15). This is the essence of GRACE. This is the heart of the GOSPEL. God’s SOLUTION to man’s PROBLEM is what the gospel is all about. (See John 3:16). And the real FAITH is the RECEPTIVITY of GOD’s ACTIVITY. Wow! This is breath taking! (ii) God has to strip down man’s RELIGION in order to cover up the man with His RIGHTEOUSNESS. God is the initiator of the TRUE and PROPER sacrifice. Just a few verses previously the Bible tells us that God sacrificed some animals in order to cover up Adam and Eve nakedness. “The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them” (Gen. 3:21). Do you see this? God took down the leaves that Adam and Eve wore before and clothed them animal’s skins instead. God has to strip down man’s RELIGION in order to cover up the man with His RIGHTEOUSNESS. Later on in history the Scripture reveals this wonderful truth. “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5:21). Isn’t this wonderful! What a great God and Father we have! Enjoy the company of our Great Father!!! He is not far from any of His children. The question is: Are we aware of His Presence? Blessings!!!
