Shanghai trip part 2: we get a bus from the bus station we hitchhiked to 45 minutes later and got to the airport. We decide instead of taking the long distance bus back lets take the subway to the train station. The lady told us all train stations went to hangzhou so all we had to do was choose a metro route to one of the 4 train stations. We choose one and get on. We meet a guy from Denmark, really nice, and sit patiently and wait. After about an hour we realize we are now heading backwards because we were trying to nap and knew it was a long route. Turns out we were supposed to get off and back on at the other side of the platform and because we hadnt we were now going in reverse. We realized this after making it about halfway back. Finally we get off and do what we are supposed to. Finally another hour later we arrive at the train station and decide to eat before boarding a train. After we eat we get in line for security to go home. We look at the departure list and none say hangzhou... We went to the wrong station even though the receptionist said it was ok!!! We get into a cab that did not turn the meter on and we ask how much the fair would be cause when they do that its to screw over a foreigner. 150 yuan!?! Too expensive so we hop out and avoid him as he tries to barter a price. Finally get into an honest taxi and arrive after speeding... 80 yuan. Thats better. We get to the right train station and all the ticket people are gone. We run to the self service machine. A lot of people were there but we made it. As we are trying to purchase the machine goes out of service. Then most everyone elses does also except 2. We get in line and as we get our turn again the last 2 machines go out of service..... Ahhhhh!!!! They luckily allowed us to pay on the train which is where we are and still have another taxi ride and moped ride before we are home... Best part is I dont get the package today I have to wait til it gets mailed. All this for a single piece of paper to just have it mailed to me. Lol.
