[bit.ly/1mE0reE] MP Denise Phua proposed the piloting of schools with 10 years through-train education for students during an adjournment motion in Parliament yesterday. She envisions the students of these schools to develop their own portfolios instead of being excessively tested. The schools, said Ms Phua, will also be a “microcosm of society” and students will not be physically segregated into groups, but would benefit from programmes that suit their individual learning needs. Education Minister Heng Swee Keat promised to give the idea “serious consideration”.
