Sharing: Over 50 years ago, My mother said I do to my brave father and became his Bride. Little did she know, she was saying “I do” to much more than a young 30+ year old stud, she was saying I do to Uncle Sam! You see, my daddy Beaux was a Soldier in the US Army and she became a Military Wife. Back then, they were wives, today they are Spouses. Back then, she was told by his 1SG, “Little Lady (as he spit chew), if the Army had wanted your husband to have a wife, they would have issued him one;” as those within ear shot chuckled my mum. Now, being the Ghetto Seoul Superstar that my mother was, even at 23, replied, “I don’t know what the highest rank in the Army is, but I promise you this, My HUSBAND will make it to that rank and I will be right there with him.” I miss you mum and dad ! ...
