Sharing Testimonies of The Supernatural I wanted to share a few - TopicsExpress

Sharing Testimonies of The Supernatural I wanted to share a few thoughts on how and why we share testimonies of the miraculous things God does. I have a few problems with sharing my own testimonies of the things Ive seen God do. One of my problems involves a battle with pride, the other is the issue of privacy. I work in medicine and I pray for my patients. Healthcare laws restrict what can be shared without the consent of the patient. If I were to post a video or photo of a patient, I could get in trouble. So my freedom to share testimonies is restricted. But God still wants me to testify to His miracles. A few years ago He gave me a dream to illustrate this point. In the dream I was going from place to place recording the testimonies of the different things God had done. I took statements from people who were healed or who witnessed some other work of God. In some cases I had seen them healed and in others I didnt. Most of the testimonies involved healing, but not all of them. I felt a very strong sense of purpose in the dream. This wasnt something I did for myself, recording these testimonies was important to God and I knew they would last into eternity. What struck me as strange was the fact that some of the stories I recorded were a second testimony to replace ones that had been destroyed previously. I knew in the dream that every testimony was very important and none of them were to be discarded or ignored. This was the basic content of the dream. In pondering the dream, I’ve developed a different perspective on the need to share our testimonies. If you study the patriarchs, youll note that whenever God did something amazing for them, or revealed something of himself theyd never experienced, an enduring landmark (usually a pile of stones) was built as a testimony to God. The nation of Israel carried 3 things in the ark of the testimony - the tablets of the law, a jar of manna and the staff of Aaron. The ark was an ever-present reminder to them about who their God was and what He had done. Our testimonies today serve the exact same purpose. The other thing that came from the dream is the fact that the enemy is not only trying to prevent the work of God, but hes trying to destroy our testimonies. The testimony of what God has done through us is between Him and us. The issue of pride is between Satan and us. We shouldnt allow things like pride to stand in the way of our responsibility to testify. Its up to us to do find a way it with humility and integrity. (From the book Divine Healing Made Simple.)
