Sharing an awesome post from our founder: From the Heart to the Heart -- A Miracle Inside! Chris Gillespie Founder, TEAM 413-GRACERUNNER MINISTRIES ========================================== I saw a TV trailer for a movie a couple of nights ago. The thing that caught my attention was a quote from one of the characters, “Each and every one of us is born with a miracle inside!” I hit rewind to listen to that phrase over and over again! I know that the quote was not to be “theological” or “about faith” at all, but as I allowed the words to sink to my heart it brought tears to my eyes. As long as I can remember – since I was a little boy – I wanted to be involved in collegiate athletics as an athletic trainer. Over the years God gave me the desires of my heart and I still live that dream today. Had you asked me 12 years ago, I would have told you that the MIRACLE inside me was that I had achieved that goal! Now I know that I would have been WRONG! If God placed a MIRACLE within me it was a vision for TEAM 413. Sometimes I reflect about how we started and where we are today and I am amazed – shook to the core of my soul! The relationships between our folks are undeniably gifts from God – a MIRACLE of His love for us. I think about all of the people who all of you have touched through the years out on the roads of this journey of life and I know that those are MIRACLES of hope. I see shirts at every race, at expos, on training runs and although I don’t know all of the people who are wearing them, I know there are MIRACLES of grace right in front of me. Had God not allowed me the gift of TEAM 413, I honestly don’t know where I’d be today! I don’t know what I would be doing today! To be honest, it’s hard to imagine life without TEAM 413. Had God not given me this wonderful MIRACLE, I would have never met Kiki. We would not have met most of you. We would not have been blessed with the ability and the tools to touch millions upon millions of people. We would have never been able to speak to thousands of people one on one and at speaking engagements from coast to coast about the goodness and grace of our Lord and Savior! We would not have become a visible and viable entity in the worldwide endurance athlete community sharing Christ with the whosoevers of this world. Think about it this – it’s a MIRACLE that people like Jeff Galloway, John Bingham, Frank Shorter, Bill Rodgers, Kara Goucher, Tim Tebow, Bart Yasso, Lisa Smith Batchen, Meb Keflezighi, Ryan Hall, so many elite athletes, AND thousands upon thousands of us regular folks know about TEAM 413 and appreciate what we do for the sport of running! Had it not been for the MIRACLE planted deep within my soul on a cold January morning back in 2003, GRACE-WORDS would have never been written and hundreds of thousands of people would not have been touched by the words that God gives me each day! So, the actor who stated that we all have a MIRACLE inside may have been right on target! The difference is that I call it a gift of grace straight from the heart of God used to bring glory to Him! …the least of these! Blessed beyond measure to be in that group! Under HIS Grace... Chris
