Sharing an excerpt from a facebook conversation I just had with a friend: I feel that one of the biggest acts of love given to us by God/Source/Spirit is that of free will. And yes, because of the development of the ego, whenever we experience fear (anything that is not love), we have allowed it to cloud our vision against a loving perspective or a loving option. The ability to choose love is still there, but we are unable to access it consciously. When we are faced with fear or violence, I feel the most loving act we can initiate is desiring to get to a place of genuine healing/ forgiveness--forgiveness of others involved and forgiveness of ourselves for thinking of ourselves as vulnerable as well as forgiving ourselves for finding guilt in others. Yes, the feeling of pain is powerfully experienced by us, and it is important to recognize that we are attached to and consequently swimming through this feeling of pain/fear. But while were attached to/swimming through this perception, we can still take small, but powerful, steps to freedom and reconnecting to love, by asking for help in forgiving. And keep choosing to ask for help in forgiving (keep choosing even whilst the pain feels so unbearable, keep choosing as often as is necessary), trusting that the miracle will be made manifest in the best possible way for us.
