Sharing this because its a chill version I hadnt heard before and Kris Kane adds some interesting factoids I didnt know beforehand. I got P, so, in keeping with the creepy serial killer theme, heres the Pixies Wave of Mutilation, (the UK Surf version, which I actually like better than the original). The first couple of lines borrow heavily from The Beach Boys track Never Learn Not to Love, whose lyrics were originally supplied by Charles Manson (though his original song title was Cease to Exist). Funny story about that--when Manson gave the song to Dennis Wilson, he specifically told him not to change the words. Dennis did, because ... I mean, the words were creepy. The first line was changed to cease to resist, making it more a song about love than, you know ... death and stuff. When Manson found out, he threatened to kill Wilson. Ha, that Charlie. What a nut. Black Francis/Frank Black, when writing Wave, changed the first lyric back to the original. Id be remiss if I didnt mention the fact that Manson was arrested at Spahn Ranch on my literal birthday (as in the day of my birth, not just its anniversary).
