Sharing this today with someone via email as part of my work; submitting an application to the Melbourne PWR was quite seriously, one of the best things I have ever done. Whilst I was out as a Pagan to all who know me, and had been so for years, this was my ... debut ? first blood ? erm... coming out experience to the Pagan community. I was welcomed with open arms by some, and others... not so much, lol! It was amazing, and I still value deeply the connections made there. It inspired me on so many levels, and continues to inspire me. Today I put myself forward for another project, and am in the process of drafting my submission; its an interesting thing to do, to self-nominate. The reality is, very rarely in life will you be nominated by others. So that leaves it up to you. Whenever I submit to a project, it always challenges me. Its certainly not the 5 mins of fame aspect - I am thin-skinned, so to put myself forward for public projects always creates some concern in terms of my ability to emerge unscathed (!), and the money certainly isnt the motivation (theres none involved, lol!), but it is my passion for what I do, and my desire to share that.
