Shaykh Muhammad Saeed Raslan: A lot of people assume that not - TopicsExpress

Shaykh Muhammad Saeed Raslan: A lot of people assume that not harming the wife is being good towards her. In fact, the scholars have stated that being good to her means bearing her harm. There occurred a dispute between the messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم and Aisha. The messenger of Allah asked her, who will you be pleased with as a judge between us? Would you like it to be Abu Bakr? She agreed and Abu Bakr was summoned. The shaykh then added at this juncture that in most cases the father would dispute on the side of his relative and argue for her however this was Abu Bakr. When they sat the messenger said to her, shall you speak first or shall it be me? She said, you speak and don’t speak except the truth. At this point her father begins poking her saying, O enemy of her own self; does he speak anything but the truth? Here the shaykh mentioned, she said this due to her anger at that point in time. Abu Bakr then became upset because he feared that she would anger the messenger of Allah and a divorce may occur. Or that the anger of Allah descends upon her due to the anger of his messenger. Aisha at this point is clinging to the garment of the messenger of Allah while he is preventing Abu Bakr from getting a hold of her. The messenger of Allah says to him, we have not summoned you for this. Abu Bakr then exits the house upset. The messenger of Allah in his wisdom turns to his wife and says, did you see how I defended you? He then acknowledges rectification by calling out to Anas, O Anas take this dirham and purchase some grapes. Anas goes and returns with the grapes and they begin eating. Abu Bakr meets Anas outside and asks him, what happened O Anas? He replies, rectification!! You left them and now they are eating grapes. Abu Bakr then rushes back inside and says, you all called me for your problem and forgot me for you solution. The messenger of Allah says to him, sit and eat. موقع فضيلة الشيخ محمد سعيد رسلان
