She makes some really great points with this dissection. Emma could have her altered her approached bit differently, especially in regard to speaking more on feminity, and yes, it is true that women ultimately take a hardest hit than men, however ---her speech is powerful enough to create a wave and thats what counts here. Shes still going viral. Shes still changing the game, making people think. And it is incredible that i 2014 we are still at the point were gender is just a word. In all this I feel something is still escaping me....i cannot really get the core responsibiltiy of this ongoing inequality. But it cannot totally be the male part of society to blame ...I fear. We women, we have our own responsibilty as well. None excepted, so each of us should sincerely say with Emma Watson, “if not me then who? If not now then when?” “men are also imprisoned by gender stereotypes, ive seen young men speaking from mental illness, unable to ask help, for fear it would make them less of a man. Ive seen men made fragile and insecure by distorted sense of what constitute a man male success. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time to that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals. We should stop defining who we are. I want men to take up this mantle so their daughters, sisters, and mothers can be free from prejudice but also so their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human too.and in doing so, be more true and complete version of themselves. This is ultimately about freedom. (powerful, moving, articulate, brilliant speech of emma watson)
